Most of the scripts and screenplays I have written have been on commission from the NewSpring Church of Wichita, Kansas (formerly Messiah Baptist Church), www.newspring.org.  I have written some scripts for specific people for dramatic competitions and talent shows.  I have written other scripts for banquets, dinners, and other special events.

If you would like to purchase a script or screenplay I have written, please visit the Drama Store

I have a specific process I follow for writing scripts.  To learn more about this process, click here.

The Writing Process

The First Step
Once we initiate contact, I will take all the information you provide me with (i.e. purpose, point, and tone), and I will write a create two or three basic ideas for the script.  I will send the proposal to you through email, and you can tell me which of them (if any) are appropriate.  This point in the process will continue until we find an idea you are happy with.

The Second Step
Once we decide on a script idea, I will create the script according to the details you specify.  Then, I will email this first draft to you for you to make corrections or to offer your input.  You'll need to email the correct script back to me, and I will make the necessary corrects and return it to you as a second draft.  This step will continue with a third draft, a fourth draft, and so on until you are satisfied with the content of the script.

The Third Step
The third step is the final payment.  Pricing information is explained below.

Pricing Information

Before I email you the idea proposal, I require a $10.00 non-refundable payment.  Subsequent communication is free of charge until the submission of the final draft.  Final drafts are $5.00 each.

Special projects (i.e. full-length stage plays, screenplays) will be priced according to length, difficulty, and other factors.

Example: A client commissions me to write a four-part drama series for a high school youth group.  The first charge is $10.00 for the creative process, in which the client participates.  The next charge would be $20.00 ($5.00 each) for four final draft scripts.

Helpful Hints for Submissions

BE SPECIFIC

  • Be as specific as possible about your needs in a script. A commissioned script is a personalized script.  I can't design it for you if I don't know what you want. The less communication we have to do with each other, the faster the script will be completed.

  • Be specific about the number of actors and props you have. If you only have two actors and one chair to use in a script, make sure you tell me.

  • Be specific about the tone the script requires. If the script is being used in a somber church service, I need to know (otherwise, you might end up with something funny).

BE SURE

  • Know what you want out of the script.

  • Know what you want the script to accomplish.

  • The more you can tell me, the better the script will be.

BE AWARE

  • Know what people will think is funny and what they won't think is funny.  In essence, know your audience.

  • The more you can tell me about the audience the script is going to be performed for, the better the script will be.
